University Information
Profile: Since 1867, Cedar Crest College has been educating its students for leadership roles to meet the needs of society. Today the College continues to have outstanding success in educating students for life in the 21st century, in both traditional liberal arts majors as well as professional programs.

Cedar Crest’s liberal arts curriculum provides all students not only with a foundation for study in their fields and in their lives, but with a choice of courses that stimulate their minds and create a true joy in learning. The graduates of our liberal arts college will be better able to respond to the challenges that life offers—creatively and flexibly.

Cedar Crest College has been consistently recognized by U.S. News for its value and distinctiveness in higher education. The College becomes an even better value when you factor in the high quality of our faculty, the success of our students, and the excellence of our academic programs.

Our faculty are dedicated to teaching as their number one priority, while continuing to achieve in their areas of research and scholarship. From an English professor whose essays have been anthologized in books across the country to a forensics professor who was formerly a Forensic Scientist in the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in New York City, to business professors who have been executives at companies such as Hershey and Nestle, our faculty maintain the highest levels of professional development. What’s more, these faculty teach all levels of students—from freshmen to seniors.

With a low student-to-faculty ratio, our students are able to receive individual attention. This may account for the very high percentage of our graduates who plan to go on to graduate school—54%, as compared to 21% at other private 4-year colleges.

Finally, we look at students’ lives holistically. Not only should they be immersed in the highest academic standards, but they should also be as healthy as possible in mind, body, and spirit. As a result, Cedar Crest College has award-winning programming to encourage its students to live healthy lives.
